Question:My wife has Type 2 diabetes (10 years now). She is currently 70 years old.
She takes two Gliperide twice a day and one Glucophage a day.
She has had a bone spur on her foot for three years now. It grew over the
course of a couple of days and has not grown since. The pain from it has
been getting worse and worse.
One doctor says her cerculation is fine, and there should be no problems.
Another doctor told her she has to live with it and it should not be worked
on because of the diabetes.
Yet another doctor told her that she should/could have it removed. We feel
that he did not do perform a very good exam though.
We are both afraid of it not heeling or complications that could be very
bad.
Can anyone offer any advise?
Answer:I am not a medical person but if the situation were mine and I had the pain.
which I do have something that might be a bone spur on my foot where it
bends. I would go with the doctor who did the best exam or I would seek yet
another doctor who had confidence in himself/herself as a physician to get
me out of my pain and not loose my foot either. I know when mine acts up it
hurts like the dickens. I hope I helped but I would continue until someone
had the confidence needed to help me. Like I said though I am not a medical
person but you have to do what is right for your wife and you.
