Question:I have just had a bone marrow test and the doctor says the socket is dry.no bone marrow was extracted.

Has anyone ever had this happen and can share what it means?


Answer:From experience, bone marrow can be patchy. I've had marrows taken that were very acellular, and others that were full of cells, from the same spot. I've also had an inexperienced doctor gouge the mantle of the bone and get that, missing the bone marrow almost entirely.
